Airtificial signs two automotive contracts in India and China
- The Intelligent Robots Business Unit has signed two cutting-edge technology projects for the assembly of components for electric and hybrid vehicles with global Tier-1 suppliers in India and China.
- The company thus fulfils its strategy of geographic diversification in Asia, as outlined in its business plan, by manufacturing and delivering two turnkey production lines equipped with artificial intelligence.
- The two signed projects, which will be delivered within 18 to 30 weeks, include high-precision systems such as vision, traceability, laser welding, and flatness verification, ensuring quality and efficiency while optimizing and shortening manufacturing processes for long production series.
Madrid, February 4, 2025. Airtificial Group has signed two key automotive projects for the design, manufacturing, and turnkey delivery of production lines: one in India for the assembly and verification of steering systems, and another in China for the assembly of electric steering. These production lines, developed by the Intelligent Robots business unit, are the result of Airtificial’s technological excellence, industrial design, service quality, and R&D. Their manufacturing aligns with the company’s global geographic diversification plan, representing two key projects that not only strengthen its position in electric mobility but also reinforce customer confidence and open doors to new opportunities in this production plant.
The assembly and verification project for steering systems, manufactured at the India plant, marks the first contract signed with this Swedish Tier-1 company, a global leader in automotive safety components. This project will feature state-of-the-art industry specifications and technologies that ensure optimal line performance, including 9 stations, 7 operators, automatic feeders, screwdrivers, press fittings, vision inspection systems, traceability, and lighting and continuity verification systems. This production line will manufacture more than five steering wheel models for Tata’s Nexon model, with a cycle time of 40 seconds. Airtificial continues to grow and strengthen its position by expanding to new clients and diversifying its product portfolio. This innovative project will be delivered in 18 weeks.
The second project signed by Intelligent Robots this year will be carried out at its plant in China and is a continuation of the agreement announced last November with this Tier-1 leader in electric steering components. This contract strengthens the relationship and reaffirms customer confidence in Airtificial as a B2B supplier, leveraging its 25+ years of expertise in engineering and assembly line development for long production series. The production line will be delivered after 30 weeks of manufacturing and will consist of four stations, including automatic lubrication, press fittings, laser welding for the sensor and its calibration station, and all auditing tools for the process.
Airtificial’s CEO, Guillermo Fernández de Peñaranda, highlights: “We are very proud to sign these two key projects with some of the world’s largest Tier-1 companies in the automotive sector. This reaffirms our position as a Tier-2 leader in the industry, thanks to our ability to deliver innovative, technologically advanced, and highly specialized solutions.” He continues, “Our more than 25 years of experience in engineering and intelligent robotics allow us to develop state-of-the-art assembly systems that meet the highest standards of quality, precision, and efficiency. These contracts not only position us as a strategic partner for our clients but also enable us to continue expanding our international presence and diversifying our solutions.”
Airtificial continues to establish itself as a benchmark in the global automotive sector, taking technical complexity, innovation, and engineering expertise to new levels. Through high-impact projects and cutting-edge technology, the company demonstrates its ability to tackle the industry’s most demanding challenges, creating turnkey solutions that optimize manufacturing processes and ensure product quality and reliability. This constant innovation and market adaptability ensure Airtificial’s leadership as a strategic Tier-2 supplier for the industry’s key players.
