Airtificial delivers braking solutions to a Chinese Tier-1

Madrid, 15 September 2025. Airtificial Group has signed a new €2 million automotive contract with a global Chinese Tier-1 supplier for the design, manufacture, commissioning, and turnkey delivery of a production line for the assembly and automatic verification of electromechanical brakes (EMB) for electric vehicles. The end customer is a leading Chinese manufacturer of this type of vehicle. The Intelligent Robots division will execute the project over a 20-week period at the Company’s new facilities in the Suzhou Industrial Park, inaugurated in July this year.

This is the first assembly and verification line for brakes that Airtificial will deliver to this customer, a long-standing partner of the Company, for whom it has carried out more than 10 production line projects per year for the past 25 years. This Chinese automotive Tier-1 has once again placed its trust in Airtificial’s proprietary know-how to expand its order portfolio with the EMB assembly line for electric and hybrid vehicles. This cutting-edge technology has been developed by Intelligent Robots over the past five years and is considered one of the Company’s most strategic products, given its strong potential to drive sales growth in the coming years.

The state-of-the-art line, equipped with a significant degree of artificial intelligence, enables optimised production cycles of 23 seconds. Measuring approximately 31 metres in length and 11 metres in width, it comprises 23 assembly and verification stations. The technology integrates machine vision, robotics, radio frequency identification for traceability, servo presses, plasma cleaning systems, and automatic dispensing systems, among other capabilities. Delivery will be made, after the 20-week production period, to one of this customer’s main plants in China.

Electromechanical brakes represent one of the most promising industrial innovations in electric mobility. Unlike traditional braking systems, which rely on hydraulic circuits, EMB technology operates entirely with electric motors and electronic signals, enabling a faster, more precise and safer response. In electric vehicles, and increasingly in hybrid models, this type of brake integrates seamlessly with regenerative braking, optimising energy recovery and reducing component wear. Its implementation constitutes a key step towards autonomous driving and the mobility of the future, where safety and efficiency will be fully governed by electronics.

Guillermo Fernández de Peñaranda, CEO of Airtificial Group, stated: “This contract reflects the confidence our clients place in our technological capabilities and international competitiveness. For Airtificial, it is a privilege to support them in their global expansion, particularly in such a demanding market as China.”

The new facilities, inaugurated last July, cover a surface area of 4,500 square metres, tripling the space previously available at the industrial park. This expansion strengthens the Company’s commitment to operate locally in order to optimise delivery times, enabling it to manage the growing number of projects while broadening its technical and production capacity in the region.
