Madrid, September 5, 2024. Airtificial reinforces its growth and profitability objectives. The company has managed to give a new twist to the improvement of its operating results. Airtificial closes the first half of 2024 with a 72 percent increase in EBITDA; a positive operating result, the second in a row after the end of 2023. Airtificial, moreover, confirms its growing trend of increasing order backlog with a contracting of 216 million euros, 13 percent more than the 191 million in the same period of 2023.
Airtificial closed the first half of the year with sales of 46.7 million euros. The Intelligent Robots (IR) division posted sales of 20.7 million euros. The Aerospace & Defense (A&D) business unit maintained its growth with revenues of 18.5 million euros compared to 14.4 million euros in the same period of the previous year, driven by the tailwind of growing demand from the sector in both civil aviation and defense. The natural resources and water management engineering division, Civil Works (CW), also grew compared to the first six months of 2023, in a sector that has clear signs of further improvement driven by increasingly demanding environmental legislation.
In addition, the Company has broken a new record in its order backlog reaching 216 million euros, 13% more than in the same period of 2023. Its strategy of generating intra-group synergies has enabled it to expand the range of technological solutions offered to customers, as well as the applicability of its engineering and intelligent robotics technology from the automotive sector, especially in the field of intelligent manufacturing lines for electric and hybrid vehicles, to new sectors, such as the pharmaceutical sector.
The Company’s CEO, Guillermo Fernández de Peñaranda, has stated: “We continue to manage Airtificial with the objective of achieving profitability. The Company’s main financial figures corroborate this in the first half of the year and, from June to September, we have already seen a significant inflow of business into the Company. We are confident that we will have a good second half of the year, which will continue to drive our growth as a company, both in key sectors and in new markets such as Asia, and consolidate our position in important markets in which we already operate, such as NAFTA and European countries”.
