Airtificial signs new contracts for EUR 8.9 million
The Intelligent Robots business unit is awarded contracts for EUR 5.2 million to develop high-tech assembly and testing lines for major automotive Tier 1 manufacturers and successfully consolidates the glocal strategy.
Airtificial Infrastructures has also signed new contracts in Colombia for EUR 3.7 million for overseeing road, construction, and treatment works, and technical support for construction companies
Madrid, May 20, 2021. Airtificial strengthens its strategy of expanding its customer base and diversifying its geographic markets and orders by signing new contracts amounting to EUR 8.9 million. The Intelligent Robots business unit continues to make the highest contribution to the Group’s turnover. In the last two months it has signed contracts for developing robotic lines amounting to EUR 5.2 million for the NAFTA region and Eastern Europe. Furthermore, the Infrastructures business unit has signed a transport engineering contract and a building contract amounting to EUR 3.7 million.
The signing of these new contracts means that Intelligent Robots consolidates its innovation and glocal customer strategy in two ways: on the one hand, offering the integration of advanced technological solutions in its projects and, on the other, diversifying and increasing the geographic markets in which it operates, providing global coverage and ensuring its ability to provide real supply wherever the customer’s plant is located.
The main contracts signed by Intelligent Robots include:
- A contract valued at EUR 1.75 million for a new customer, a Tier 1 engine manufacturer for electric power steering in the NAFTA region, which has been awarded with the aid of references given by another customer with which Airtificial operates in that area. This new project consists of manufacturing and delivering two fully automated testing lines to verify the correct operation of steering motors for an electric car.
This agreement enables Airtificial to expand its customer base and open up a new opportunity for growth with a renowned technology solutions manufacturer that supplies products for a variety of industries, such as communications, automotive, and medicine, among others.
- The second contract, valued at EUR 1.37 million, includes the installation of electric parking brakes (EPB), which follows on from an existing project currently being implemented in Mexico. It will be delivered in Eastern Europe, in line with the customer’s strategy, which reflects Airtificial Intelligent Robots’ glocal strategy to relocate production from China to each continent.
- The third contract, valued at EUR 560,000, comprises a project for assembling and testing electric power steering motors with a customer in Slovakia. This contract is deemed strategically unique because it enables Intelligent Robots to achieve considerable volume in Eastern Europe and ensure the geographical diversity sought by the company.
- The remainder of the orders, totalling EUR 1.53 million, are made up of smaller projects and technological improvements in already assigned projects.
Since the start of the year the Intelligent Robots business unit has received orders totaling EUR 14.3 million, establishing the current sales portfolio at EUR 27 million.
Infrastructures consolidates its operations in Latin America
On another note, the Infrastructures business unit, which has a major presence in Latin America, as well as far-reaching knowledge, technical references and the capability to complete major projects, consolidates its position in the region through signing new contracts worth EUR 3.7 million.
The contracts signed by Infrastructures include:
- Overseeing design and maintenance works and the improvement of 342 km of Colombia’s State Highway Network, amounting to EUR 6.5 million (in a joint venture at 40%).
- Overseeing the technical, legal, financial, administrative, environmental and health and safety aspects of the new medium-security wing at the Medellín-Bellavista prison, amounting to EUR 350,000 (in a joint venture at 33%).
- The remainder of the orders, totaling one million euros, comprise smaller projects and extensions in already assigned projects, with a fine example being overseeing the design and construction of the 7 m3/s El Salitre wastewater treatment plant in Bogotá.
Since the start of the year, the Infrastructures unit in Colombia has received orders totaling EUR 5.2 million, with the current sales portfolio at EUR 9 million.
