SUCCESS STORIES | Low Volume Sensor Assembly Line

Challenge

Developing a universal line for efficiently and flexibly producing small batches for a wide variety of electric and self-driving car models.

HOW DID WE DO IT:

  • Merging several lines into a single production line improved model changing time by 50% and lowered the number of workers by 20%.
  • Working in close cooperation with customers to set maximum variability for future products.
  • An machine-part interface was created for a universal machine solution.
  • Testing processes were 100% automated.
  • The most frequent assembly processes were automated using robots with automated tool changers.

Conventional mechanical systems were replaced by vision systems for added flexibility on new models.
